Founded in 2020 to represent the spirit of Midwestern adventure, Ope Outdoors aspires to create a community of people who love the outdoors and the places they are from. Castlewood
Fun fact: Before Castlewood became a state park, it was a popular summer getaway for St. Louisans, complete with dance halls, riverside beaches, and trains bringing visitors out for a weekend of fun.
At its peak, more than 10,000 people visited Castlewood on a summer weekend! The park even had a Prohibition-era speakeasy called the Lone Wolf Club near its present-day boundary.
