Castlewood State Park Retro Pullover
Once a bustling summer getaway for St. Louisans, Castlewood was home to riverside beaches, dance clubs, and weekend crowds arriving by train.
As the resort faded, efforts by the Open Space Council for the St. Louis Region helped preserve the land, eventually leading to the establishment of Castlewood State Park in 1974.
Today, its limestone bluffs and winding trails offer a different kind of escape from the city.
A little piece of St. Louis history worth preserving.
